Trinnov AltitudeCI Is Now Shipping: A New Modular AV Processor

Trinnov has officially started shipping its new AltitudeCI processor, a product that introduces a new level of flexibility to the Altitude platform.

First presented as a prototype, the AltitudeCI generated strong interest among integrators and home cinema designers. Now that the first units are reaching real installations, the early listening impressions are very positive.

A Completely New Architecture

Despite the familiar Altitude name, the AltitudeCI is not simply an update of the Altitude16 or Altitude32.

It is a completely new platform built from the ground up around Trinnov’s proprietary technologies:

  • Optimizer room correction

  • WaveForming bass management

  • 3D Remapping spatial processing

  • a powerful real-time processing engine

The goal was to create a processor designed for modern installations where system requirements may evolve over time.

Scalable Processing Capacity

The most significant innovation of the AltitudeCI is its scalable processing architecture.

Unlike traditional AV processors, the channel count is not fixed at the time of purchase. Instead, systems can start with the number of channels required today and expand later in two-channel increments.

This means a system can evolve without replacing the processor, which is particularly useful for large or multi-phase installations.

All AltitudeCI processors include the full Trinnov processing stack. The scalability only affects the available processing capacity.

Built for Long-Term System Design

This new approach reflects Trinnov’s long-standing philosophy: the value of a processor should be measured over its entire lifespan.

Previous models like the Altitude16 and Altitude32 have received numerous free software updates over the years, adding new features long after the original purchase.

The AltitudeCI follows the same principle, allowing installations to grow alongside the project itself.

Which Altitude Processor Should You Choose?

The AltitudeCI is particularly well suited for projects where system size may evolve in the future.

Typical scenarios include:

  • large home cinema installations built in multiple phases

  • residential projects where channel counts may increase later

  • integrators designing forward-looking immersive audio systems

However, for more traditional home theater setups using external amplifiers, the Altitude16 and Altitude32 remain the most established and widely used processors in the Trinnov lineup.

Availability

Demand for the AltitudeCI has been very strong since its announcement, and availability may vary depending on region and project timelines.

If you are planning a Trinnov-based system, it is recommended to contact an authorized dealer early in the project.

Firmware and Roon Certification

A new firmware release (version 2.1.1) accompanies the launch of the AltitudeCI.

Roon certification is currently in progress and is expected to arrive via a future software update.
