Shipping policy
Shipping Policy
This policy applies to all orders placed on https://coolkidsaudio.com, operated under the commercial name “Cool Kids Audio” by Boring Vic SAS.
1. Delivery zones
Cool Kids Audio ships to mainland France and to the 26 other countries of the European Union.
The destinations actually available are those offered by the country selector at the top of each page and confirmed at checkout. All orders are shipped from France, in euros, with EU taxes included: no customs duties or import charges apply to intra-EU deliveries.
Certain brands or products may be subject to geographical restrictions imposed by the manufacturer or its distributor. These restrictions are indicated on the product page or communicated to you before shipment; where applicable, your order is cancelled and refunded in full.
Outside the European Union? Write to us at victor@coolkidsaudio.com. We consider shipments outside the EU on a case-by-case basis, with a shipping quote and a tax-free invoice. Any customs duties, local taxes and import charges are then your responsibility and remain payable to the destination country.
2. Shipping methods and costs
Shipping costs are calculated automatically based on your destination and the amount of your order. They are displayed before payment is confirmed, and the amount shown at payment prevails.
Current rates:
Mainland France
| Method | Rate | Free from |
|---|---|---|
| Pickup-point delivery | €5.99 | €199 |
| Standard home delivery | €8.99 | €299 |
| Express home delivery | €29.99 | — |
European Union (excluding France)
| Method | Rate | Free from |
|---|---|---|
| Pickup-point delivery | €8.99 | €399 |
| Standard international delivery | €12.99 | €499 |
Free-shipping thresholds are assessed on the order total incl. VAT after discounts, excluding shipping costs.
This grid applies to the entire catalogue. Occasional promotions may temporarily improve it (lowered free-shipping threshold, free shipping with no minimum): these are then applied automatically to your cart and announced on the site. Conversely, certain bulky, heavy or fragile products are subject to specific delivery arrangements: see section 6.
If there is any discrepancy between the grid above and the amount shown at payment, the amount shown at payment is what is charged and prevails.
3. Processing time
Orders are prepared and handed to the carrier within 1 to 5 business days for in-stock products.
For products marked as pre-order, made to order or on restock, the time indicated on the product page applies. If no time is indicated and we find the item unavailable after your order, we will contact you within 48 business hours to offer either a firm date or cancellation and a full refund.
4. Delivery time and delay
4.1 Delivery deadline
In accordance with Article L216-1 of the French Consumer Code, we undertake to deliver no later than 30 days after the conclusion of the contract, unless a different date or period is expressly indicated on the product page or at checkout.
For information, once the parcel has shipped, observed transit times are:
- France: 1 to 3 business days (24 h express);
- European Union: 3 to 8 business days depending on the destination.
These transit times are carrier estimates and do not replace the delivery deadline above.
4.2 If we are late
If we have not delivered by the agreed deadline, you may, in accordance with Articles L216-6 and L216-7:
- instruct us to deliver within a reasonable additional period, in writing (email or letter);
- then, if we still fail to perform within that new period, terminate the order by simple written notice.
You may terminate the order immediately, without an additional period, if we refuse to deliver or if the delivery date was an essential condition of the contract for you, made known to us before conclusion.
In the event of termination, we refund all sums paid, no later than 14 days after receiving your decision.
4.3 Exceptional circumstances
Events beyond our control (weather, strikes, carrier logistics incidents, force majeure) may extend transit times. We inform you as soon as we become aware. This in no way reduces your rights described in 4.2 or our liability described in section 8.
5. Order tracking
A shipping confirmation email containing the tracking number and the carrier link is sent to you as soon as the parcel is handed over. If you do not receive it, check your spam folder then write to us.
For pallet or specialised-carrier deliveries, tracking may take the form of a phone call from the carrier to arrange a time slot: make sure the number provided at checkout is reachable.
6. Bulky, heavy or fragile products
Part of our catalogue (monitoring speakers, subwoofers, studio furniture, racks) exceeds ordinary postal dimensions. For these products:
- shipping is by specialised carrier, with delivery by appointment;
- delivery is made at the foot of the building or at the threshold, unless otherwise agreed; it does not include carrying upstairs, unpacking or installation, save prior written agreement;
- the transit time is generally longer and is communicated to you at the time of order;
- arrange for someone to be present to receive and check the equipment.
We also offer installation and calibration services: write to us for a quote.
7. Receiving the parcel
Check the condition of the parcel on receipt, in front of the delivery driver.
If the packaging is torn, dented, wet, opened or visibly damaged, we recommend that you either:
- make written, precise and detailed reservations on the carrier's delivery note (a note such as “subject to unpacking” has no value); or
- refuse the parcel outright.
Then notify us within 48 hours at victor@coolkidsaudio.com, with photos.
⚠️ Important: these reservations make it easier for us to claim against the carrier, but their absence does not deprive you of any right towards us. See section 8.
8. Damaged, lost or undelivered parcel
In accordance with Article L221-15 of the French Consumer Code, Cool Kids Audio is automatically liable to its consumer customers for the proper performance of delivery, including when it is entrusted to a third-party carrier.
In concrete terms:
- your point of contact is us — never the carrier. You have no steps to take with them;
- the risk of loss or damage passes to you when you physically take possession of the parcel (Article L216-4), and not before. A parcel lost or broken in transit is our problem, not yours;
- an investigation with the carrier may be opened, but its outcome does not condition your compensation: we reship the product or refund you in full.
We can only be released from this liability in the event of fault on your part, an unforeseeable and insurmountable act of a third party outside the contract, or force majeure.
Exception under Article L216-5: if you entrust delivery to a carrier you have chosen yourself and that we did not offer, the risk passes to you as soon as the goods are handed to that carrier.
9. Delivery address
You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the delivery information entered at checkout (number, floor, entry code, building, phone).
As long as the order has not shipped, write to us: we correct the address at no charge.
Once the parcel has been handed to the carrier, an address change is not always possible and may incur charges that the carrier bills to us, which we re-bill to you at cost.
A parcel returned to sender due to an incorrect or incomplete address, or an absent recipient after delivery attempts and the carrier's holding period, is reshipped to you at your expense, or refunded less the round-trip shipping costs actually incurred.
10. Business customers in the European Union
You can be shipped exclusive of French VAT if you have a valid intra-EU VAT number. Two options:
- create a customer account and enter your VAT number in your personal information; or
- write to us so that we can issue a dedicated invoice.
The reverse-charge of VAT in your country remains your responsibility.
For business customers, sections 4.2, 7 and 8 fall under the ordinary law of sale and carriage: reservations with the carrier in the form and within the time limits of Article L133-3 of the French Commercial Code condition any claim, and risk passes upon handover to the carrier.
