Trinnov extends factory coverage on Altitude processors to ten years

An Altitude processor is installed for the long haul. Trinnov knows it — it is the whole argument behind its software policy, built on regular updates and backward compatibility maintained over many years. Since May 2026, the company has put that same logic into the contract: the Altitude Extended Care Plan takes factory support on an Altitude16 or Altitude32 from five years to ten. The programme is back in the spotlight this week at CEDIA Expo in Denver, alongside the latest WaveForming release.

What the plan covers

Two strands. The first is inclusive factory maintenance: should the unit need hardware attention, genuine parts and specialist labour at the Trinnov workshop are covered at no additional cost to the member. The second is less common — an annual health audit, carried out remotely, during which the Trinnov team reviews system logs and hardware performance indicators to catch drift before it becomes a failure.

On top of that comes priority access to global support for the authorised dealer looking after the installation: when something goes wrong, the case moves to the front of the queue. And because the contract is tied to the hardware rather than to its owner, it follows the unit if it changes hands — a detail that matters on the high-end used market.

For out-of-warranty units, it is now or never

This is the part to remember if you already own an Altitude. Two scenarios:

• Initial warranty still running — you can enrol at the point of sale, or at any time before the five-year term expires, and add five more years of maintenance.
• Initial warranty already lapsed — the unit remains eligible whatever its age, and gets five years of factory-backed maintenance from the date of enrolment. But that window closes on 31 December 2026.

One technical caveat worth checking first: on the Altitude32, only serial numbers #1580 and above qualify. If in doubt, your dealer can confirm whether your unit is eligible.

Where to sign up, and at what price

The plan is sold exclusively through authorised Trinnov dealers, and for now is limited to owners based in the United States and the European Union — Trinnov says it is evaluating expansion to other markets. Pricing is not published: ask your dealer. The programme also covers the Altitude16 and Altitude32 only, and no other model in the range.
