Monitoring controller

With 5 inputs, including a USB-C input with high-quality D/A converter, 2 slave outputs, 3 speaker outputs, 1 subwoofer output and a crossfeed headphone amp, the Lake People Monitor Controller MC100 offers much more than conventional monitor controllers. In addition to classic stereo signal controls (Solo L/R, Mute, Dim, Mono, Phase Invert, L/R Invert), there are intelligent input summing features, advanced control of input gains, as well as 'high level sound transparency. This pushes noise and distortion well beyond the audible spectrum.

Stereo inputs

  • 2 balanced XLR inputs on the rear
  • 1 unbalanced RCA input at the rear
  • 1 unbalanced input on the front with 3.5 mm mini-jack
  • 1 rear USB-C input with high-quality D/A converter for PCM signals up to 384 kHz / 32-bit and DSD 256

The inputs are activated individually by buttons on the front or summed, the active inputs being displayed by LEDs. The unbalanced inputs can be set to a sensitivity of -10 dBV or +4 dBu. The USB input LED displays PCM signals in green and DSD signals in blue.

The stereo signal can be manipulated using push buttons. The activated state is indicated by LEDs. These functions include: left or right channel solo, left and right channel inversion, left channel phase inversion, or switching the signal to mono. The Dim (-20 dB) and Mute functions are also present.

Volume control

The volume control is done by a very high quality Alps RK27 potentiometer with 41 steps. It has a massive 50mm knob and allows you to attenuate the three stereo outputs and the (mono) subwoofer output.

Stereo outputs

The rear slave outputs "Slave Out 1" and "Slave Out 2" are balanced XLR jacks. The outputs can also be used in unbalanced mode. Level meters and other devices can be powered here, bypassing the volume control. The rear outputs "A, B, C and Sub (Mono)" are equipped with balanced XLR sockets. The level of all groups can be adjusted to 0, -6, -12 dB using the switches on the rear.

Output groups "A, B and C" can be switched to single mode or additional mode using push buttons located on the front panel. The "Sub" output is activated individually, the assignment to the respective group is stored and recalled when the output is activated again.

The headphone amplifier is activated by a button and has its own volume control. The "X-Feed" crossfeed effect can be activated separately if desired, this effect mixes the L/R channels to improve the feeling of a stereo image similar to listening through speakers. The headphone amplifier is extremely powerful and qualitative. Headsets with ¼" (6.3 mm) and 3.5 mm jacks can be connected
