A modern take on the closed-back headphone

Unlike traditional closed-back headphones, which are often limited in imaging and prone to internal resonances, the E3 uses an advanced acoustic architecture designed to preserve naturalness, transparency and dynamics. The result is closer to listening to an open-back headphone, while keeping excellent isolation.

Latest-generation planar technology

The E3 features a latest-generation planar magnetic driver developed specifically for this model. It offers excellent bass control, fast impulse response and extremely low distortion, for faithful reproduction across the whole frequency range.

AMTS – Acoustic Metamaterial Tuning System

The headphone uses the AMTS system (Acoustic Metamaterial Tuning System), Dan Clark Audio's proprietary technology. This internal acoustic device controls standing waves and smooths the frequency response, especially in the upper range. The treble gains precision and smoothness, without harshness or long-term fatigue.

Sound signature

The E3 offers a balanced, dense and controlled sound signature. The bass is deep, fast and perfectly controlled, the mids natural and clear, while the treble stands out for its finesse and lack of hardness. The soundstage is wide and well structured, which is remarkable for a closed-back headphone.

Comfort and ergonomics

The E3 uses the brand's signature self-adjusting headband, for even weight distribution. The ergonomic ear pads provide an excellent acoustic seal while staying comfortable over time. The folding design makes it easy to carry without compromising sturdiness.

The E3's design is both understated and distinctive. The earcups feature Gorilla Glass, combining elegance, rigidity and resonance control. The whole structure uses premium materials for durability and precise assembly.

Several cables available

The E3 comes with the premium VIVO cable, available in 7 versions. We recommend the 6.35 mm TRS jack version in 1.8 m or 3 m, which is the most common standard.
