Eversolo DMP-A6 Master Edition Gen 2

All-in-one network player, DAC and preamplifier

The Eversolo DMP-A6 Master Edition Gen 2 combines a network audio streamer, a digital-to-analogue converter and a preamplifier with balanced output in a single chassis. Simply connect it to a power amplifier or active speakers for a complete digital source, controlled from its touchscreen or a smartphone. The high-end version of the DMP-A6 Gen 2, the Master Edition keeps all the features of the standard model while refining the analogue section: upgraded linear power supply, higher-quality clocks and op-amps, and a fully balanced output stage.

6-inch display and machined chassis

The front panel is dominated by a 6-inch LCD touchscreen showing the navigation interface, album art and virtual VU meters, legible enough to operate the unit from the listening position. The multifunction rotary knob, surrounded by a customisable RGB ring, handles volume and navigation. The CNC-machined aluminium chassis, available in silver or black, measures 270 × 187 × 90 mm and weighs about 5 kg.

Audio architecture and conversion

Conversion is based on two ESS Sabre ES9038Q2M DACs, one per channel, for independent stereo conversion right to the end of the chain. USB processing is handled by a third-generation XMOS XU316 processor, compatible with DSD512 and PCM 32-bit/768 kHz. The ultra-low-noise linear power supply (below 40 µV), upgraded on this Master Edition, feeds a fully balanced analogue output stage, available on XLR (5.2 V) as well as RCA (2.6 V).

Connectivity and integration

The DMP-A6 Master Edition Gen 2 can act as the digital hub of a whole system: USB-B, optical, coaxial and HDMI ARC inputs for a TV, and USB-A, HDMI, optical and coaxial digital outputs to an external DAC. An M.2 NVMe 2280 slot accepts an SSD of up to 4 TB (not included) to host a local library. Networking includes a Gigabit Ethernet port, dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0, and a 12 V trigger output switches the amplifier on together with the source.

Streaming, signal processing and room correction

The unit is Roon Ready and supports Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, Amazon Music HD, HighResAudio, Deezer, AirPlay and UPnP/DLNA; Apple Music works via screen mirroring. Remote control is via the Eversolo Control app (iOS and Android). Signal processing includes a 10-band parametric equaliser, FIR filters, selectable digital filters and microphone-based room and speaker correction — the individually calibrated Eversolo EM-01 calibration microphone is the accessory designed for this measurement and is ordered separately.
