Terra is Ex Machina Soundworks ' flagship speaker. It is aimed at engineers and producers who seek extremely faithful, uncompromising sound reproduction at a price finally consistent with the realities of modern studios.

A design conceived as a measuring instrument

Terra is based on a three-way coaxial architecture and is designed as a true point source. This design allows for remarkable temporal coherence, a highly stable stereo image, and off-axis consistency rarely achieved in this class of speakers. The frequency response is maintained within ±1.5 dB from 40 Hz to 30 kHz, with a phase coherence of ±15° across the entire audible spectrum.

A faithful reproduction of transients and phase

The LR4 linear-phase digital filters eliminate any temporal distortion at the cutoff points, located at 200 Hz and 2 kHz. This approach ensures clean transients, accurate attack reproduction, and a perfectly focused sound image, essential for critical mixing and mastering decisions.

A large and stable sweet spot

Thanks to its 90° x 90° conical directivity, Terra maintains a coherent sound image well beyond the listening axis. The sweet spot is very large, allowing for comfortable use while moving or with others, without loss of precision or tonal imbalance.

A mechanically neutral box

The extruded aluminum monocoque cabinet is designed to be acoustically invisible. No unwanted resonance, no flexing, no inherent sonic signature: the cabinet does not contribute to the sound. Only the speaker signal is reproduced, without coloration or mechanical artifacts.

Individual calibration and pure DSP monitoring

Each Terra speaker is individually measured and calibrated at the driver level before shipping. The integrated DSP is dedicated exclusively to linearizing the speaker's behavior, without room correction or artificial voicing. Firmware and calibration updates are performed remotely via Wi-Fi, ensuring continuous performance improvement over time.

A system that evolves according to needs

Terra is perfectly self-contained for tracking, mixing, and mastering. For applications requiring higher SPL levels or deeper bass extension, it can be paired with Gravity subwoofers to create a coherent and calibrated 2.2 full-range system.
