Stereo tube saturator

In recent years, audio production has evolved from large commercial studios to more compact, home studio-focused studios. These smaller studios are often centered around digital audio workstations (DAWs) and use fewer external devices, partly due to space constraints. However, the demand for classic analog sounds and features remains strong in the industry.

This demand led to the development of saturators that offered a distinctive sound and extensive adjustment options, allowing users to instantly add analog warmth to any take—whether individual tracks, busses, or mastering—all in a compact format.
Many Gainlab Audio users have reported that the most frequently used feature on their units is the Tube Boost. This led to the creation of a dedicated unit, offering fully configurable tube saturation, ensuring that the sound is suitable for a wide range of production scenarios.
This unit is the GLA-TS1 Wizard Stereo Tube Saturator . Input and output controls allow users to easily adjust the saturation level to suit the character of the source signal and personal taste, with further adjustments possible via the Feed function. This, using the clean signal captured at the input, is able to remove the clean signal content from the output signal, providing additional control to set the desired saturation level.

As a tube device, the Wizard includes a Bias control. It allows shaping the tonal character of the saturation, offering not only a high-pass filter, but also a three-band EQ with presets. This unique solution allows the character of the sound to vary over extremely wide frequency ranges. The device provides visual feedback on the output levels as well as the amount of saturation. In addition, users can influence the dynamic aspects of the saturation using the Pressure control, which works on the principle of vari-mu compressors and also has a dedicated meter.
