An open-back headphone that is even more open
Open-back headphones are so popular because their acoustic performance is much better. The smooth earcups of closed-back headphones form a barrier that reflects sound and interferes with the direct sound and the diaphragm's operation. Open-back headphones limit this effect. Unveiled technology goes even further, removing more of the grille material that could reflect sound.
"Window Shade" design
The diaphragm, only a few nanometres thick, is extremely light and can easily be disturbed by sound waves reflected and refracted by the grille. To address this, HiFiMAN developed a "Window Shade" architecture that optimises the open area, reduces the grille surface and limits reflection and refraction. The result: noticeably better sound.
Magnetic Veils covers
Covers designed specifically for the Unveiled series protect the diaphragm when the headphones are not in use. Fitting these covers prevents metal objects from being attracted by the magnets and damaging the diaphragm.
