USB-C DAC

The Atom DAC 2 is the ideal companion to the Atom Amp 2 and Amp+ from JDS Labs. It is also suitable for all other hi-fi uses. Its USB-C and Toslink inputs make it compatible with many different sources. It has a latest-generation XMOS interface supporting UAC2 and UAC1 fallback. Its front lighting turns on during use and turns off automatically during periods of inactivity. Also, the DAC 2 is more energy efficient than its predecessor thanks to a more efficient I/V stage and an all-aluminum housing.

USB Type C

The Atom DAC 2's native USB Type-C input receives up to 32/384kHz PCM via a custom XMOS-based UAC2 engine that supports ASIO and DSD. UAC1 mode for PS5 or Nintendo Switch is enabled when using any other UAC1 USB cable.

More efficient

The Atom DAC 2 features an improved power supply, with an external AC transformer and 10 regulators ensuring constant rail voltage and very low ripple. The Atom DAC 2 is also more energy efficient than the Atom DAC+, saving energy and running cooler.

MEMS oscillator

The Atom DAC 2 is clocked by 45/49MHz MEMS oscillators with a frequency stability of ±25ppm, providing minimal jitter.

Firmware up to date

The Atom DAC 2 firmware manages all the features of the XMOS chip and ensures easy updates.

Automatic standby

The Atom DAC 2 automatically enters sleep mode after 5 minutes of USB inactivity. It instantly wakes up when you interact with it. The Atom DAC 2’s new light ring is now attached to the aluminum chassis for increased robustness.

Metal case

The Atom DAC 2 is built in an aluminum chassis.
