USB Audio Class 1 UAC1 Fallback Cable

This custom USB cable forces UAC1 mode on all current JDS Labs DACs for connection to PS4/PS5 or Nintendo Switch. Use your DAC's original black USB cable to take full advantage of UAC2 features.

Direct connections are preferred. If you need to connect your DAC at a distance of more than 1 meter, you can use a USB hub as an extension.

Connecting to PS4/PS5

PS5 users: Connect your DAC to one of the USB ports on the back of your PS5. The USB ports on the front may introduce interference.

Important note: PS4 and PS5 are known to limit audio output volume on USB outputs. Make sure to install a tested PS4/PS5 firmware to force correct volume levels. All recent DACs are shipped with the appropriate firmware. For older DACs, an update may be necessary: visit the brand's website for more information.

Connecting to a Nintendo Switch

To connect a DAC to the Nintendo Switch, you need to install a specific compatible firmware. Please mention your particular request when contacting us.

Note: This cable is designed for UAC1 audio streaming at 24-bit/48 kHz, typical of game consoles, and supports up to 24-bit/96 kHz via a direct connection to a PC.
