Network Streamer and Digital Audio Processor

The miniDSP SHD Studio combines a digital preamplifier, a network streamer, and a powerful acoustic correction processor in a single device. Designed for both the demanding audiophile and the integrator, it brings Dirac Live correction and studio-level signal processing to any setup, without an internal analog converter, to preserve the integrity of the digital stream to your DACs.

Studio-grade signal processing (DSP)

At the heart of the SHD Studio, a 450 MHz Analog Devices SHARC processor ensures remarkably precise 32-bit floating-point processing. You get a 10-band parametric equalizer per channel, crossover filters with slopes up to 48 dB/octave, a compressor/limiter, and a fully flexible 2x4 mixing matrix: enough to configure an optimized stereo system, a multi-amplified setup, or a perfectly integrated subwoofer.

Dirac Live Acoustic Correction

The SHD Studio incorporates Dirac Live, the reference acoustic correction solution. Using calibration software and a measurement microphone, Dirac Live analyzes your room's response and corrects both frequency and temporal responses. The result: a more precise soundstage, controlled bass, and tonal neutrality that only room correction can provide.

Streaming and Software Compatibility

Roon Ready certified, the SHD Studio integrates natively into a Roon ecosystem for seamless library management. It also runs Volumio, an open-source network player that provides access to playback from USB drives, internet radio, and streaming services like Spotify. Configuration is done via the miniDSP Device Console (Windows and macOS), in addition to the Dirac Live calibration software.

Connectivity

For inputs, the SHD Studio accepts AES/EBU, coaxial SPDIF, optical, and USB audio, with support for sample rates from 32 to 216 kHz. The 4 output channels are available in SPDIF and AES/EBU, to power your external converters and amplification in full digital mode and preserve signal quality.
