The miniDSP UMIK-1 is an omnidirectional USB measurement microphone shipped with its own unique calibration file, ensuring reliable and repeatable acoustic measurements. Driverless and plug-and-play, it connects directly to your computer to analyze, tune, and calibrate your audio systems with ease.

Design and connectivity

Housed in a robust, compact die-cast aluminum body, the UMIK-1 features a 6mm electret capsule and a built-in sound card with a 24-bit ADC. It connects via USB-C (USB Audio Class 1.0), powered at 5V through the USB port, with a blue status LED. No external interface or phantom power is needed: a single cable is all it takes.

Individual calibration for accurate measurements

Every UMIK-1 ships with a unique calibration file tied to its serial number (format 700-XXXX), free to download from the miniDSP website. Once loaded into your measurement software, the microphone delivers a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz at +/-1 dB, for readings at a professional level of accuracy.

Universal software compatibility

Driverless, the UMIK-1 works instantly with Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux, no driver installation required. It is the reference microphone recommended by miniDSP and Dirac Research for calibrating their software. It is fully compatible with the leading acoustic measurement and correction solutions on the market, such as REW (Room EQ Wizard) and Dirac Live.
