Stereo pair of small-diaphragm FET condenser microphones

The Soyuz 013 FET-M is a matched pair of small-diaphragm condenser microphones, hand-assembled in Russia. A 25 mm gold-sputtered capsule and an in-house toroidal transformer give it small-diaphragm precision with a colour you almost never find in this category of microphone.

A matched pair, not two mics in the same box

Both microphones in the set are selected and matched so their response is identical. That is what holds a stereo image steady in XY, ORTF, AB or spaced-pair setups: no level offset between channels, no centre pulling to one side. The set ships in a solid wood case with two -10 dB pads and two clips.

Where precision meets warmth

The 013 series draws on the best vintage small-capsule designs while claiming a sonic signature of its own. Its detailed midrange and smooth highs capture complex, transient-rich sources without adding harshness or flattening the dynamics. The toroidal transformer adds a harmonic density you would not expect from a pencil mic.

Overheads, acoustic guitar, piano

This is where the 013 FET-M belongs. On drum overheads, 143 dB SPL and the -10 dB pad let it take loud cymbals without turning brittle. On acoustic guitar, piano, strings, percussion or room capture, it delivers detail without the clinical edge of very neutral pencil mics — useful when the take has to sit in a dense mix as recorded. Omni and hypercardioid capsules are available as options and mount on the same microphone body.

FET or tube

The 013 series comes in FET and tube versions, with identical capsules, identical bodies and closely related voicings. The 013 FET's transistor circuit captures transients with a slightly faster response and a more direct character; the 013 TUBE has a smoother top end, for situations where a little extra colour is welcome.
