Inspired by the classics, crafted as an original

The unique sound identity of the Silver 17 relies on its 34mm gold-plated S17E capsule, entirely developed and machined in-house. While the original capsule was inspired by the geometry of the famous K67, Soyuz engineers went even further by drawing inspiration from the mythical Soviet LOMO 19A18 microphone, a rare gem often compared to the C12 for its air and the quality of its highs. By combining these two worlds, Soyuz has rethought the diaphragm tension and the mechanics of the backplate. Unlike the classic model, the electrical charge is carried directly by the mounting ring, freeing the center of the capsule from its screw to allow the diaphragm to vibrate completely freely and offer a perfect balance between coloration and dynamics.

Handcrafted, uncompromising masterpiece

Like every Soyuz product, the Silver 17 is an exceptional piece of engineering, handcrafted by master machinists. The microphone bodies are turned on a metal lathe, the capsule backplates are individually hand-polished and tensioned, and the transformers are wound in-house at the brand's workshops. The wiring is entirely point-to-point, eliminating printed circuit boards for maximum longevity. Finally, at the heart of this circuit is the famous military-grade 6ZH1P tube, hand-selected and guaranteeing the sonic signature of the 017 lineage.
