The Telegrapher Gorilla is an active 3-way sealed-box midfield studio monitor that delivers precise imaging and articulate bass down to 35 Hz. Already adopted by renowned studios, it is the heart of Telegrapher's original range. The listed price is for a pair of speakers.

Design, analog filtering and per-way amplification

Founded by RJ and Emery during the Covid period, Telegrapher designs and builds its speakers with the standards and processes of the luxury automotive industry. The Gorilla combines analog filtering with dedicated class D amplification for each way (2 x 500 W + 100 W). Components were carefully selected: a 22 cm woofer with a very rigid black anodized aluminium cone, a 12 cm midrange with a patented paper cone and a 2.5 cm coated textile dome tweeter.

Performance and sonic character

With 117 dB max SPL and 0.0018% and 0.0016% THD+N, the Gorilla stays transparent even at high levels. The sealed cabinet ensures tight bass and fast transients with no overhang. This is the range's reference sound signature: the Fox brings it to a compact format, and the Gorilla S extends it with two woofers.

Which studios is it for

Its wide, low format (32 x 45 x 30 cm) sits easily on a mixing desk or on stands, for near to mid-distance listening. It suits medium-sized mixing, production and mastering rooms. Two selectable inputs, balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA, make integration easy. Available finishes: Telegrapher Grey, Crow Black, Trooper White, Jaipur Orange and Menton Yellow.
