Poseidon is the low-frequency extension developed by Ex Machina Soundworks exclusively for the Selene platform. It is not a generic subwoofer, but rather a component designed from the ground up to function as an integral part of the Selene system. The objective is clear: to extend the bass response and increase headroom without compromising temporal coherence, phase, or ease of integration.

An extension designed as a component of the system

Unlike traditional subwoofers, Poseidon has no built-in amplification or DSP. All power management, filtering, time alignment, and calibration are handled by Selene's EXCore unit. This approach eliminates the common challenges of bass management, manual adjustments, and phase alignment. Once connected, Poseidon integrates seamlessly as a natural extension of your main speakers.

Controlled bass, not over-voiced

Poseidon adopts a philosophy opposite to that of "spectacular" compact subwoofers. The bass is designed to be linear, controlled, and perfectly integrated with the rest of the spectrum. The high-excursion driver allows for significant bass output despite its compact size, without compression or overshoot. The result is a clear, usable, and reliable low end for critical decisions.

Compact three-way system integration

Combined with Selene, Poseidon transforms the system into a true compact three-way configuration. This expansion is particularly relevant for immersive environments, post-production studios, editing suites, or confined spaces requiring enhanced bass response without the need for complex external subwoofers.
