Compact, foldable closed-back planar magnetic headphones

The AEON 2 Closed is the evolution of the AEON Flow. Dan Clark Audio redesigned it around the driver technology of the Ether 2, its former flagship, in a much lighter and more portable format. It is one of the few closed-back planar magnetic headphones that folds into a compact case: ideal for listening on the go, at the office or during a recording session.

Sound

The AEON 2 Closed has a warm, dense signature with generous bass and rich mids. The V-Planar magnetic driver brings the speed and low distortion typical of the technology, and the closed design isolates you well from outside noise: ideal in a shared space, on the move or while tracking.

Build and comfort

• Nitinol headband (shape-memory nickel-titanium alloy), carbon and machined aluminium baffle: rigid and very light
• Patented folding gimbals: the headphone fits in a remarkably compact case
• Comfortable ear pads for long sessions

Easy to drive

With a 13 ohm impedance, the AEON 2 Closed works with modest sources, but it gains control and dynamics with a headphone amp that delivers plenty of current, such as the JDS Labs Atom Amp 2 or the JDS Labs Element IV DAC/amp combo.
